Hello!
My name is Justin Lebet. I am a New Jersey-based drummer, composer, and audio engineer. I started my drumming journey at the age of 10, and over the years have grown a particular affinity for playing jazz music, especially fusion, although I have the adaptability to perform in other styles as well. In 2024, I graduated from Stevens Institute of Technology with a bachelor of art in Music & Technology. As a part of my senior thesis, I released my first album, Melting Point, an eight-track jazz fusion album, a culmination of everything I learned as a music student. The record consists of eight songs in total: five original compositions, as well as three arrangements of well-known songs, recontextualized into this style, altering their instrumentation, form, and even bringing them into an odd time signature. Inspired by jazz fusion acts such as CASIOPEA, Chick Corea, and Carlos Eiene, among others, this album brings together a lineup of some of the most talented musicians from the school and beyond. In addition to performing jazz, I also have an interest in scoring and sound design for video games. Soundtracks like those of Mario Kart 8, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Minecraft have shaped my appreciation of both mediums and led me to develop new ways of expressing myself through music.
